Richard A. Lash

          Rick represents financial institutions, title insurance companies, and individuals in the state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. His areas of practice include general litigation, title insurance defense, appellate practice and will and fiduciary matters.  Rick is the firm's President, and a member of its Board of Directors.
          Rick’s experience includes the defense of mechanic's liens and the representation of financial institutions and landlords in a variety of lending transactions and workouts, including foreclosures, collections, bankruptcies, evictions and curing defects in land titles.
          A past president of the George Mason University School of Law Alumni Association, Rick also served as tribune of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and as an officer and/or director of numerous non-profit organizations.
          Rick holds an undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and law degrees from the George Mason University School of Law, where he was a Justice of the Moot Court Board, and the George Washington University National Law Center, where he received his Master of Laws degree in International and Comparative Law. He has written on the subject of corporate law, lectured on the subject of curing title defects in Virginia and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the George Mason University School of Law currently teaching Commercial Paper.

Keith M. Yacko

          Keith graduated from Gettysburg College in 1990 with degrees in history and accounting/finance. In 1994, he received his JD, with honors, from the George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, D.C. He has been admitted to the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia bars, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
          Keith originally started with Buonassissi, Henning & Lash, P.C. in January 1995 and after a two-year sabbatical re-joined the firm in December 2002. Over the years, he has pursued a diverse practice, including work done in domestic relations, estate planning, tax and corporate law. Currently his practice is devoted almost entirely to foreclosure law.
          Keith serves on the firm's Board of Directors and is its Vice President.

Barry K. Bedford

          A 1982 graduate of George Washington University, Barry received his JD from George Mason University School of Law in 1986 and was admitted to the Virginia Bar that same year. While at George Mason, he was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and served as its vice-dean in his third year.
          A large portion of Barry's practice has been devoted to representing real estate builders and developers from the land acquisition and planning stage through delivery of finished product. He has also been actively involved in contract and settlement negotiations of all types. He practices extensively in commercial and residential real estate law, including landlord/tenant matters, real estate finance and the formation of condominium and homeowners' associations. In addition to his significant bankruptcy practice experience Barry has represented several area banks and has served as general counsel to a local bank since 1991.
          In 2008 Barry became Of-Counsel to Buonassissi, Henning & Lash, P.C. His areas of practice include real property law, real estate and REO settlements, creditor's rights, banking, corporate law, construction lien law, title insurance litigation, foreclosure law and bankruptcy law.
          Barry currently serves of the firm's Board of Directors as its Treasurer.

Leonard W. Harrington, Jr.

          For over 31 years, Len had been an executive and counsel with three national title insurance underwriters and two title insurance agencies, including one that he owned and operated for 11 years in Northern Virginia, before joining Buonassissi, Henning & Lash, P. C. in 2009.  His experience includes title insurance company management, preparing and conducting commercial and residential real estate settlements, title examination, underwriting, and claims involving properties in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.  
          He is the firm’s REO Managing Attorney overseeing seller representation and title clearance for properties being resold after foreclosure by the firm’s lender clients.  He also handles pre-foreclosure title review and communicates with title underwriters in claim matters.
          Len is a rarity - a native Washingtonian - growing up in Northwest D. C., graduating from Gonzaga College High School in 1967, before receiving a B. A. degree from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, in 1971 and a J. D. degree from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1975.  He is a past vice president of the D. C. Land Title Association and a current member of the District of Columbia Bar.

Robert E. Kelly

          Bob has broad experience in the areas of litigation, the practice of administrative law before Federal and state regulatory agencies across the United States, and real estate law.  In the litigation area, Bob served in recent years as an E-discovery specialist in complex litigation matters for top-tier national law firms located in the District of Columbia. For more than a dozen years Bob has proudly served U.S. military service veterans through a federal appellate practice representing veterans in disability claims appeals before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.  Bob has also served as first-chair counsel for appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.  His real estate practice has involved coordination of loss mitigation negotiations in the foreclosure process for qualified clients.  
          For many years Bob has represented broadcast and telecommunications clients in administrative procedures before Federal regulatory agencies, primarily involving licensing and other authorization proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. Bob has also represented communications companies before numerous state regulatory agencies around the country.  
          Bob has broad experience in representing small and large business in all areas of practice. He previously worked as in-house counsel for a NASDAQ-listed Competitive Local Exchange Carrier that provided local exchange telecommunications and Internet services in 36 major markets nationwide.  Bob has transactional experience in all areas, including negotiation of asset purchase agreements, lease agreements, equipment vendor contracts and license agreements on behalf of patent clients.   
          Bob formerly sat on the Board of Directors of the North American Numbering Plan Billing and Collection, Inc., an entity authorized by the Federal Communications Commission which reviews Federal regulatory policies and issues concerning billing and collection practices by  telecommunications companies throughout the United States and abroad.  He has served as a member of the Fiduciary Panel of the Probate and Tax Divisions of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. 
          Bob is a graduate of Colgate University, and Fordham University School of Law.  He was formerly admitted to practice in the State of New York and is a current member of the District of Columbia Bar.  In addition, Bob is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

David A. Rosen

          David obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1996 and his law degree from the George Washington University National Law Center in 1999. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, all federal courts in those jurisdictions including bankruptcy courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
          David is a past chair of the D.C. Bar Association’s Real Estate Housing and Land Use (REHLU) Section and presently serves as an elected member of the REHLU Section’s Steering Committee (2004–2007 and 2008–2011). He is a frequent lecturer at legal seminars regarding real estate law and litigation.

Pooya Tavakol

          Pooya graduated cum laude from George Mason University in 2007 with a B.S. in accounting.  He then went on to obtain his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif.  At Villanova, he was also awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence.
          Pooya joined Buonassissi, Henning & Lash, P.C. in 2011.  He has prior experience in civil litigation, bankruptcy and criminal defense.  Currently, his areas of practice include general litigation and bankruptcy.

James J. "Skip" Inabinett, Jr.

          Skip graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1982 with degrees in history and business communications.  In 1985, he received his JD from the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland.  He is admitted to Maryland Bar.
          Skip is of counsel to the firm and has over 20 years experience managing real estate title companies, title agencies and REO departments in Maryland and Virginia.  
          Skip currently conducts foreclosure sales as substitute trustee on deeds of trust and mortgages securing the firm's clients.
